We have 17 bison calves in the pasture as of today! While out counting this afternoon, our Range Manager, Josh Wiese, witnessed an entire birth unfold in the field. He first saw the calf’s legs hanging out while the mother was lying in a wallow. She stood up, her water broke, and she even lapped some of it up. Then came a cycle of lying down to push, standing to reposition, and walking a few steps before trying again. Finally, she laid down one last time, labored, and gave birth. When she stood
