I tried seaweed as a mulch in my cutting garden last year and it was fantastic for keeping weeds down as well as keeping some moisture around my plants. It also decomposes and leaves valuable minerals and nutrients in my soil. Plus, it’s FREE! When I was preparing my beds this year the seaweed from last year had already broken down into the soil.
