Manchester Airport has revealed a striking new memorial honouring the 613 (City of Manchester) Squadron, which was based at RAF Ringway - the wartime name for the airport site. The memorial features a 1:4 scale Spitfire above a circular flowerbed of poppies, paying tribute to the squadron that served as a reconnaissance and tactical bomber unit until 1957.
