At least 100 people were shot and 19 were killed across Chicago over the long Fourth of July weekend, according to authorities.

After another long holiday weekend that saw scores of people killed or wounded by gunfire — many of them children — city leaders gathered at Chicago Police headquarters Monday morning to once again decry the city’s entrenched violence and call for accountability for those who carried out the shootings.

Johnson, who called on the feds to help, said those who did the shootings made "a choice to kill women, a choice to kill children, a choice to kill the elderly. And I’m here to say emphatically that we have had enough.

One hundred and nine people have been shot, 19 fatally, in gun violence across Chicago since Wednesday during the extended Fourth of July holiday weekend, police said.
