Wildfire smoke from the Prairies has prompted a special air-quality statement over much of northern Ontario Saturday.

Every air quality monitor in Minnesota is reporting red or unhealthy conditions for everyone, an official said.

The conditions are expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility across the region, according to a statement issued Thursday by Environment Canada.
