Giancarlo Stanton was not activated before Friday night’s series opener in Boston, despite seemingly having wrapped up his rehab assignment earlier this week. Manager Aaron Boone told reporters pregame that Stanton was in the Bronx on Friday, working out at Yankee Stadium instead of joining the club at Fenway Park.

Stanton is now expected to play in a fourth rehab game with Double-A Somerset on Saturday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said before Friday night’s series opener against the Red Sox.

Stanton played in three straight games for Somerset between Tuesday and Thursday. He went 3-for-11 with one double, four RBI, one walk and two strikeouts in his first games since the 2024 World
