Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reiterated after his side’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday that he is still not happy with the size of his squad and that more departures are necessary.

Tottenham made it two wins from two under new boss Thomas Frank with another big result at the Etihad, once again leaving Manchester City frustrated. After last season’s 4-0 drubbing in the same fixture, Spurs returned with a more disciplined approach and still walked away with all three points.

Struggling to defend counter attacks. Caught out playing from the back. A lack of pace and intensity. Predictability on the ball. Those were the main themes which riddled City’s third-place finish in the Premier League last season and it came to the fore in their loss to Spurs.
