Credible security sources have denied reports claiming Pakistan gave Iran any nuclear assurance in case of an Israeli attack. These claims were circulated by some foreign media outlets. Officials said no such commitment was made by Pakistan.

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior Iranian military commander, stated that Pakistan has promised to retaliate with a nuclear attack on Israel if Israel strikes Iran with a nuclear bomb.

Israel said on Friday it targeted nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories and military commanders in a "preemptive strike" to prevent Tehran from building an atomic weapon. Several brokerages had initially expected a cut but revised their forecasts after the Israeli strikes sparked fears of a broader conflict.
