Local International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) workers tell News 2 that the port strike is over. Kenneth Riley ILA International Vice President, Port of Charleston told News 2’s Jordan Cioppa that “we reached a deal on the two most important things to us in these negotiations.

On Oct. 3, the ILA released a statement that it had come to a tentative agreement with the United States Maritime Alliance Ltd. and will extend its six-year master agreement with the organization, which expired on Sept. 30, through Jan. 15, 2025 ,while the two parties return to the negotiating table.
