Canadian consular officials are pressing for more information from the US government after a Canadian citizen died while in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a Florida detention center this week.

A Canadian man convicted of drug trafficking died in ICE custody in Miami. His death, the 10th in ICE custody this year and the fourth in Florida, remains under investigation.

The death of Johnny Noviello, 49, came as ICE agents have made sweeping arrests across the United States as part of President Trump’s crackdown on immigration. The cause is under investigation.
