The Centre has initiated an investigation into the death of 26-year-old chartered accountant Anna Sebastian Perayil, who worked at Ernst & Young (EY) and reportedly succumbed to work-related stress. The Union Labour Ministry is looking into a complaint regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.

The issue is also being taken up in the Parliament, as Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Saket Gokhale said that he has formally written to the Labour Secretary of Maharashtra demanding an urgent investigation be launched into the working conditions at EY which allegedly led to the death of Perayil.
