Eddie Genborg, the Detroit Red Wings' second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, played goalie before deciding he'd have more fun as a forward.

The Detroit Red Wings today selected seven players during the second day of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft at L.A. Live’s Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The Red Wings chose right wing Eddie Genborg (44th overall) in the second round before taking goaltender Michal Pradel (75th overall) in the third round.

The Red Wings took a pair of left-shooting defensemen in the fifth and sixth rounds, adding Nikita Tyurin (6-0, 174) of Spartak (Russia juniors) and Will Murphy (6-4, 209) of Cape Breton (QMJHL). They wrapped up the draft with center Grayden Robertson-Palmer (5-11, 197), who’s bound for Dartmouth, in the seventh round (No. 204).
