Temperatures in Houston and San Antonio reached record highs in October, but the unseasonably warm weather is set to change.

A cold front is sweeping across Texas from the Panhandle to the Hill Country and North Texas to San Antonio-Austin, temperatures dip into the 30s and 40s.

The front will move through South Texas during the afternoon, but cooler temperatures will be delayed until later tonight.

National Weather Service Lake Charles said that the cold fronts in Southeast Texas have not caused temperature shifts due to them being weak.

Temperatures will stay in the mid-80s over the next few days, but a cold front will bring fall-appropriate weather back to South Texas soon.
