Bichette had a great year at the plate but his regular season was unceremoniously ended in a collision with Yankees catcher Austin Wells in early September. Bichette suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and hasn’t played since.
The Blue Jays may have just gotten a massive boost after reaching their first World Series in 32 years. Shortly after beating the Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series Monday night, All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette said he plans to be active for Toronto's matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 27-year-old Bichette has never played second base in seven seasons in the big leagues. Bichette has only ever played shortstop (and designated hitter) at the Major League level. Bichette did play 30 games at second base in the Minors, most recently in 2019, when he played a single game there for Triple-A Buffalo.
The Atlanta Braves have a major hole to fill at shortstop and could pursue Bo Bichette in free agency this winter.
