In an interview with Empire magazine, published on Monday, James Cameron, the writer, director and creator of the Avatar films, revealed his plans for that world, which included him saying that he told Disney he wants to make more Avatar stories using animation.
The world of the Na'vi might be expanding, per director James Cameron, who opened up about his plans to take the franchise to animated territory.
James Cameron is currently considering an expansion of the Avatar franchise that would allow the property to truly thrive the way Star Wars has for decades.
Speaking to Empire, Cameron said he wants to do his version of The Animatrix, the animated spinoff of the Wachowskis’ Matrix film series. Cameron’s idea for an animated Avatar anthology would “add texture and baroque detail to the world of Avatar” and add “backstory on characters and tangential stuff that happened off-camera within the movies.”
James Cameron says he is talking to Disney about expanding the 'Avatar' film series into animation via a film or anthology series with Disney.
