The Auto Fire has burned nearly 56 acres in Ventura, California Monday night and was at 25% containment Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters say winds between 20 and 30 mph were blowing through the area as they attempted to quell the flames burning in the Santa Clara Riverbed.

The new fire, in Ventura County northwest of Los Angeles, covers 56 acres and is 0 percent contained, officials said.

Millions of Southern Californians were on edge as a final round of dangerous fire weather was forecast for the region on Wednesday, along with a rare warning of a “Particularly Dangerous Situation” for an area near where two massive blazes have killed at least 25 and destroyed thousands of homes.

As wildfires continue to devastate Los Angeles, leaving thousands displaced and causing widespread destruction, experts urge long-term support and careful giving.
