You may notice a bit of a haze in the air this week. In part, it’s coming from central Canadian wildfire smoke, and while impacts are expected to peak on Wednesday, it’s not leading to much health concern in the tri-state.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City is under an air quality alert for the second day in a row. The National Weather Service issued the alert for all five boroughs, warning that Air Quality Index values are forecast to exceed 100 for the pollutant ground-level ozone. This latest alert will remain in effect until 11 p.m. Thursday.
