Thousands of pagers exploded across Lebanon yesterday - reports say Israel's spy agency, Mossad, was targeting Hezbollah fighters.

Lebanon's Hezbollah said on Wednesday it attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets in the first cross-border attack since the Tuesday pager blasts.

A wave of blasts emanating from Hezbollah pagers in Lebanon took place as people shopped for groceries, sat in cafes and drove in cars.

Hezbollah threatened Israel after thousands of its members’ pagers exploded across Lebanon, killing 12. Israel has not commented on whether it was responsible.

Hassan Nasrallah refused to say when or how Hezbollah would take revenge. As he spoke, Israeli fighter jets swooped low over Beirut.
