I-40 is back open east of Albuquerque after two major crashes sent multiple people to the hospital and slowed traffic Thursday.

I-40 westbound to I-35 northbound is shut down due to a semi fire and injury accident. This is a developing story.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) is investigating a hit-and-run after one pedestrian was killed on I-40. NCSHP troopers responded to a crash on I-40 near the 415 mile mark on Oct. 15 at around 9:16 p.m.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Rural Metro Fire says a driver was uninjured after a semi-truck veered off of Interstate 40 and caught fire in the nearby woods Wednesday evening. It happened around 6:30 p.m. in the woods off eastbound I-40 between N. Campbell Station Road and Lovell Road.

Parts of I-40 near the Loudon-Roane County line will be closed from midnight until 5 p.m. Saturday for paving.

The Moriarty Fire Department responded to two separate incidents on Thursday on I-40. Initially, crews were sent to a semi-truck fire on I-40 westbound at mile marker 195 at around 10:20 a.m. Crews said that there was no active fire,

An 18-year-old from Marked Tree, Arkansas was killed in a hit-and-run on Interstate 40 near Earle, and state police are looking for information on his death. Arkansas State Police

A crash on I-40 westbound Sunday morning claimed the life of a woman and left her sister injured in Durham County. Around 4:45 a.m., Brijette Basden, 24, of Kernersville, pulled over on the left side of the interstate near Page Road to switch driving duties with her sister, Asrael Basden.
