China’s Yu Zidi became the youngest ever medalist at the World Aquatics Championships after being part of China’s bronze medal-winning team in the 4x200m freestyle relay.

Yu Zidi, a 12-year-old Chinese athlete, has become the youngest swimmer in history to win a medal at the World Aquatics Championships. China won bronze in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the Championships in Singapore, and while Yu did not swim in Thursday’s final, she qualified for a medal after swimming a leg in the heats earlier in the day.

Chinese 12-year-old Yu Zidi has won a bronze medal at the swim world championships, an astounding feat for a girl who would be a sixth- or seventh-grade student depending on the school system.
