FBI agents – thrust into yet another role for which they are not trained – have been put on patrol duties with local police as part of President Donald Trump’s declaration of a crime emergency in Washington,

The FBI is forcing out more senior officials, including a former acting director who resisted Trump administration demands to turn over the names of agents who participated in Jan. 6 Capitol riot investigations and the head of the bureau’s Washington field office.

Sources speaking with various media outlets said the White House was ousting Brian Driscoll, a senior FBI official who briefly served as the agency's acting director in the early days of the Trump administration; Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington Field Office Steven Jensen; and Washington-based Special Agent Walter Giardina.

One of those reportedly forced out is ex-acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll, who refused to go along with administration efforts to fire FBI agents.
