A tornado caused major damage to at least one home in Seminole County as severe weather moving across Central Florida prompted tornado warnings in four counties.

Storms dumped rain on Central Florida on Monday morning, bringing a slew of tornado warnings to the Orlando area. A radar-confirmed tornado touched down along Interstate 4 in the Longwood/Lake Mary area around 9:30 a.m. Officials said about 3,500 people are without power.

The tornado, later given an EF2 rating by the National Weather Service, was believed to have peak wind gusts to 115 mph, equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane.

A suspected tornado passed over Seminole County, including the WOFL FOX 35 TV Studios, as a series of strong thunderstorms crossed over the area.

The Seminole County Fire Department said a home in Longwood collapsed after "weather impacts." Others described it as a tornado.
