Texas voters are nearing the deadline to register for the 2024 election. The last day to register to vote in the state — which has some of the strictest guidelines in the nation around registering and casting a ballot — is just days away.

Passage of the Freedom to Vote Act would have expanded access to voter registration and the ballot box for millions of Texans for the 2024 election.

People seeking to register need to get their application postmarked by Oct. 7 or hand deliver their application to the office for their county’s voter registrar.
