The Trump administration has again delayed the date when new reciprocal tariffs will go into effect, and the president threatened a 35 percent tariff on Canada.
(CNN)– President Trump has announced a 50% tariff on all copper imports that takes effect august first. Trump previewed the tariff in a cabinet meeting earlier this week. In a late Wednesday social media post, the president said the move will help the country build a “dominant copper industry.”
The president warned both countries that if they retaliate with their own tariffs, the U.S. would further increase import taxes.
