Storms brought torrential rain to the Lehigh Valley on Monday, causing flash flooding. Flooded roadways were a common site around the region, but the Upper Saucon Township area appeared to see the worst of it. The area of Route 309 at Hopewell Road, near Saucon Creek, was particularly hard hit.

We will endure another day of heat and high humidity. Widespread torrential thunderstorms are likely later today

A tropical rainstorm will drench Florida through midweek before possibly strengthening over the Gulf and threatening Louisiana with flooding and tropical impacts. The summer months often mean heavy rains and severe weather for parts of the United States.

Another upper-level disturbance will approach the region on Wednesday, increasing the coverage of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may become strong to severe, bringing the threat of gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding. Highs will once again top out near 90.

A frontal system along the the Maine/Quebec border this morning is bringing a few showers to western areas. Another round of showers, and potentially thunderstorms, will pop up in the west and move east through the afternoon and evening.
