Tuesday begins with temperatures in the single digits and teens, with wind chills close to zero as the wind blows. High temperatures will only reach the lower 20s — a full 10 degrees below the freezing mark, and 15 to 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. An occasional breeze will keep the wind chill at or below 10 throughout the day.

The monster winter storm that New York City and the Tri-State Area have been bracing for arrived Sunday, bringing heavy snow, sleet and frigid temperatures.
The monster snow and ice storm hitting New Jersey on Sunday has caused significant flight cancellations at Newark Liberty International Airport. At least 894 arriving and departing flights are canceled for Sunday as of 7:30 a.m., according to FlightAware data. Another 235 flights are canceled already for Monday.
