A state-owned gambling company apologized after telling players that they had won “erroneously high prizes.” It blamed the error on a faulty currency conversion.

Players had made "plans for holidays, buying an apartment or renovating before they realized that the amount was wrong."

(Gray News) – Thousands of people in Norway thought they had won large lottery prizes, only to be told it was a mistake. In last Friday’s Eurojackpot drawing, “several thousand” people were notified of incorrect prize amounts, according to Norway’s national lottery, Norsk Tipping.
