Sony just announced the long-awaited PlayStation 5 Pro, promising 45 percent faster graphical speeds compared with the regular console. It will also be one of the most expensive video game consoles

Even with the promise of running games like Grand Theft Auto 6 better than any other console, the PS5 Pro does little to justify its eye-watering price tag.

There is some concern that with the PS5 Pro launching at $700, that when the PS6 comes around, even the base model could in fact launch at $700 too.

The PS5 Pro provides substantial upgrades in GPU and storage, with a premium experience that's likely to appeal to a more "serious" audience. When compared to PC hardware, the PS5 Pro still provides surprisingly good value and removes the requirement to build and optimize a PC yourself.
