Toronto, On - Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame Board, announced on Tuesday the new appointments to the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, confirmed at the annual Directors' meeting in Toronto.

TORONTO -- Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Board of the Hockey Hall of Fame, announced today new appointments to the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee as confirmed at the Directors’ meeting held yesterday in Toronto.

The Hockey Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that Jarome Iginla and Ed Olczyk will join the selection committee for the 2025 nomination and election proceedings.

Jarome Iginla and Ed Olczyk were appointed to the Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee, chairman Lanny McDonald announced Tuesday.Iginla and Olczyk replace David Branch and Mike Gartner, who had served their full 15-year terms.

Jarome Iginla and Eddie Olczyk have recently added two things in common: They both have sons in the Utah Hockey Club organization and, as of Tuesday morning, they are both on the Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee.

During a sombre moment at the Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Toronto on Monday night, the legendary Lanny McDonald offered a heartfelt tribute to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. The Gaudreau brothers were killed this summer when struck by a suspected drunk driver while riding bicycles along a road in their home state of New Jersey.
