Australia’s Oscar Piastri survived a frightening brush with disaster to retain his lead in the Formula One world championship after finishing runner-up behind his McLaren teammate Lando Norris at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Lando Norris has held off a race-long challenge from his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri to win the Austrian Grand Prix and lift his Formula 1 title hopes.

The 25-year-old made his F1 debut in 2019 at the Australian Grand Prix. He became a senior driver for McLaren at the age of 23. Lando Norris won his maiden GP in 2024 at Miami. He helped his team win the F1 Constructors' Championship the same year. Since then, the Formula 1 driver has been on a roll.
