Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has accepted an invitation from President-elect Donald Trump to meet with him at his Mar-a-Lago estate, multiple sources said.

The Pennsylvania Democrat is the first senator in his party to announce a meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump, a sign of the political times as the Republican trifecta is about to begin.

President-elect Trump called Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) “a commonsense person” after the two had a “fascinating” meeting at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. “He’s a commonsense person. He’s not liberal or conservative.

As Trump’s inauguration nears, Fetterman has shown the most receptiveness — and sometimes enthusiasm — to work with Trump of any Democrat in the Senate.

The Pennsylvania senator, a Democrat, said he would "meet with and have a conversation with anyone" to deliver for his state.
