Promising a “fight” to protect all Chicagoans, Mayor Brandon Johnson said Thursday he has not reached out to the White House in the face of Republican President Donald Trump’s ongoing threats against immigrants — and Democratic officials such as Johnson himself.

Some of the resources Johnson highlighted include phone numbers for anyone "witnessing ICE activity," with recommended steps to take if an "officer knocks on your door at home."

I don't sit around thinking about the hypotheticals,” Johnson said in an interview with WBEZ Thursday as he defended the city’s law protecting undocumented immigrants.

We are not going to be intimidated by those acts of terror to radically shift our way of living,” Mayor Brandon Johnson said. “That’s what individuals who stoke fear into people want to see happen.”
