DALLAS — The second game in as many nights for the Chicago Blackhawks ended the same way as the first: with a loss. Sam Steel had a goal and an assist in the Dallas Stars’ 3-1 win over the Hawks on Thursday night in their first game since returning from Finland.

The Blackhawks were also the opponent the last time Dallas played at home before playing the reigning Stanley Cup champion Panthers twice in Finland last weekend. The Stars lost both games. Arvid Soderblom got his fourth start in goal for Chicago and stopped 37 shots.

Steel joined Tyler Seguin and Matt Duchene on the second line with Mason Marchment missing the game due to injury, and wasted no time getting the Stars on the board in the first period of the win. Dallas would never look back from there,
