Between October and December 2024, Sony sold 9.5 million units. The PS5 Pro's release in November undoubtedly buoyed this, though Sony didn't give a breakdown. This brings the overall PS5 sales worldwide at 75 million units, and pushes Sony's gaming division up 37% compared to the same period last year.

Sony has revealed that PS5 sales have passed another major milestone, thanks to the console enjoying its best quarter ever last year.

Monthly active users across its service are also up to 129 million, up 5% year-on-year and marking a new milestone, with overall sales of games and consoles also up by 16%. 42% of PS5 sales were to new PlayStation Network users. Sony's big release during the quarter was Astro Bot, which has sold 1.5 million copies.
