Kamala Harris’s team asked Josh Shapiro if he was an Israeli double agent while vetting him to become her running mate, Mr Shapiro has claimed.

Shapiro’s memoir reveals the intense vetting process for Harris’s VP pick, raising questions about Israel loyalty in the Democratic Party and its impact on his candidacy.

When Shapiro complained about the offensive nature of the double agent question, he was told, “Well, we have to ask,” Shapiro wrote, which “said a lot about some of the people around the VP.”
