The New York Knicks got a positive injury development on OG Anunoby ahead of a game against the Utah Jazz on Friday, December 5
Knicks head coach Mike Brown credits his coaching staff for sparking the decision to insert Josh Hart into the starting lineup in place of Mitchell Robinson.
Anunoby has finally been cleared for contact work almost three weeks after sustaining a strained left hamstring. The standout wing still doesn't have a timetable for return, but the update is an encouraging step in his recovery. Josh Hart and Guerschon Yabusele should continue to see expanded roles while Anunoby is sidelined.
And he rewarded Brown’s faith with a vintage performance, recording 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists in a season-high 40 minutes during the Knicks’ 118-109 Black Friday win over the Bucks at Madison Square Garden. He was a team-best plus-15.
