The Utah Jazz are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season — but they certainly didn't look like it on opening night.

The Utah Jazz saw their fifth-overall pick Ace Bailey score his first-ever points in the NBA vs. the Los Angeles Clippers with an explosive breakway dunk.

Walker Kessler had 22 points and nine rebounds, Lauri Markkanen scored 20 and the Utah Jazz beat the Los Angeles Clippers 129-108.

The Utah Jazz aren't exactly title contenders, but at least they’ll try to win when and what they can this year. That's a step in the right direction, Tribune columnist Gordon Monson writes.

But, there is one thing that the Clippers do not have an abundance of — youth. It just so happens that’s the one thing the 2025-26 Jazz roster has in spades, so the Jazz went into the regular season opener with a very simple gameplan: Run the wheels off the old guys, and that they did to the tune of a 129-108 victory.

Lue’s Clippers have an over/under of 49.5 wins this season, per BetMGM. The Jazz, who had the league’s worst record last season, have a league-low over/under of 18.5 wins. Utah is a whole lot closer to going over that win total after embarrassing the Clippers 129-108 at the Delta Center.
