President Donald Trump has set off a fresh round of worrying about his approach toward the Federal Reserve with his statement that his pick for the next Fed chair is “coming out very soon.”

President Donald Trump cited new inflation data in continuing to pressure Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to lower interest rates, calling him a "numbskull" but adding that he won't seek to remove him.

Paul Tudor Jones said President Donald Trump is likely to appoint an “uber dovish” Federal Reserve chair to accommodate his growth agenda, contending that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent would likely be his pick when Jerome Powell’s term ends next year.

Trump also signed measures to overturn state policies curbing tailpipe emissions in certain vehicles and smog-forming nitrogen oxide pollution from trucks. Trump called California’s regulations “crazy” at a White House ceremony where he signed the resolutions.
