Arsenal had been due to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, just a few days before they host PSG in the first leg of their semi-final tie. However, the Eagles have reached the last-four of the FA Cup and so will be at Wembley this weekend, taking on Aston Villa.

This was not a result that defined the Premier League title race but, from Arsenal’s perspective, it was a night that encapsulated why they have not been able to properly challenge Liverpool this season.

Liverpool’s Premier League coronation has been delayed after second-place Arsenal drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace to keep the title race alive for a few more days at least.
