Australia’s Oscar Piastri survived a high-speed collision with his McLaren teammate Lando Norris to finish fourth in Monday morning’s Canadian Grand Prix and extend his lead in the Formula One world championship.
George Russell said he hopes Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will continue to throw away points to propel him into this season’s world championship fight. Russell won from pole position at the Canadian Grand Prix to claim his first triumph of the year and just the fourth of his career.
Norris was quick to accept blame over team radio, saying: “Yep, I’m sorry. It’s all my bad, all my fault. Unlucky, sorry. Stupid from me,” before further accepting responsibility in a post-race interview with Sky Sports F1.
