Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise will finally receive an Oscar - but not for a single role. The Academy announced on Tuesday that Cruise will be honored with an honorary Oscar at the 2026 Governors Awards.

The film industry will honor Tom Cruise this fall with an Honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement, along with the choreographer Debbie Allen and the production designer Wynn Thomas.
