NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged that a new, state-of-the-art Commanders stadium in Washington would drastically increase the chances of the U.S. capital hosting the Super Bowl for the first time.

The Washington Commanders will return to the District of Columbia and redevelop their former RFK Stadium campus, the team announced.

The Washington Commanders came to an agreement with Washington, D.C., officials to take over the old RFK Stadium site in hopes of building a new facility there.
