Google Maps will soon rename the "Gulf of Mexico" to the "Gulf of America," a decision that has faced opposition from Mexican officials.

Google said the name changes, which also includes using Mount McKinley, will happen when Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is updated.

It now has improved map utilization on all screen sizes and returns of right-aligned UI elements when not navigating.

The change in Google Maps on Android Auto had a big impact due to the limited screen space on many Android Auto devices. Google responded to feedback quickly by reverting to the previous design after users expressed frustration.
