The New York City Democratic mayoral candidates have entered the Tom Thibodeau discourse. During Wednesday’s debate, each candidate had to pick a side on the thumbs up/thumbs down binary about the New York Knicks’ decision to fire Thibodeau following their Eastern Conference finals defeat to the Indiana Pacers.

The group of Hart, Bridges, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns had a net rating of minus-6.2 in the postseason, per NBA.com. Thibodeau finally made a change ahead of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, replacing Hart with Mitchell Robinson, but by that point, the Knicks were already in an 0-2 hole.
