The Red Wings added some stability to their crease while the Ducks finally moved on from their former franchise goalie.

The Detroit Red Wings have acquired veteran goaltender John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks. Detroit sent backup goalie Petr Mrazek, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-rounder to Anaheim for a player whose name has been in trade rumors for several years.
