Sky Germany have been briefed by Eintracht Frankfurt that an offer just under £70million was knocked back by the Bundesliga club. It is understood that the striker has an £86m release clause and that Frankfurt want to see a bigger bid from the Magpies.

Newcastle have made a move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. The 23-year-old scored 15 goals and made eight assists last season as his side finished third in the Bundesliga.
