At least seven tornadoes hit Alabama on Saturday, and that number will likely climb even higher later today. The National Weather Service plans to continue looking at storm damage and has several areas that will be visited by storm survey teams today (Monday).

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey later confirmed at least three deaths and noted that there were reports of damage in 52 of the state's 67 counties as the assessment continues.

The National Weather Service has survey teams out across Alabama on Sunday surveying damage after many tornadoes are reported to have touched down around the state.

According to the SPC: “The HIGH risk area almost always means a major severe weather outbreak is expected, with great coverage of severe weather and enhanced likelihood of extreme severe (i.e., violent tornadoes or extreme convective wind events over a large area).”
