After back-to-back losses, the Monarchs return home looking to get back in the win column as they take on Appalachian State in a homecoming showdown.
The Old Dominion football team played its most complete game in a month, and blew past ULM, 31-6, Saturday afternoon to become bowl eligible for the fourth time in school history. ODU (6-3 overall, 3-2 Sun Belt) is bowl eligible the earliest in program history.
Defensively, ODU delivered a dominant performance. The Monarchs held ULM to 293 total yards and allowed their only points following a blocked punt that gave the Warhawks a first-and-goal opportunity. ODU’s defensive front recorded five sacks, a major improvement against a team that had surrendered just ten sacks in its first eight games.
It wasn't always pretty, but Old Dominion found the win column again after two straight losses, topping the Mountaineers.
