Areas west of I-495 to Pittsfield will see more snow than any other precipitation type. New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine will welcome all snow from this system.

A new winter storm will bring a prolonged period of snow and ice, causing treacherous travel in most of the Northeast. The system is due to arrive overnight Wednesday, Feb. 5 and start out with widespread snow,

The snow arrives between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday from southwest to northeast. It will only last a few hours in most areas (longer the farther north you live). The majority of the snow accumulation will be over by early afternoon.

This latest system will hit us with 1-3 inches of snow before a switchover to sleet and rain across parts of Mass., Rhode Island.
