India’s space vision has been extended with the approval for the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), which will serve as the country’s first space station by 2035.

After successful missions to the Moon and Mars, India is now set to explore Venus, with the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approving the development of the Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM).

The Union Cabinet has approved space missions totalling Rs 31,772 crores paving the way for the roadmap for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) till almost 2040.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the development of the Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM), which will be a significant step towards the Government's vision of exploring and studying Venus,

The Centre on Wednesday approved a slew of Cabinet proposals including two key space missions -- another mission to the Moon called Chandrayaan-4 and

India approves moon sample return, Venus orbiter, space station module and reusable launcher The Indian government has given approval to a number of major space projects including the Chandrayaan-4 lunar sample return and a first space station module.

With the Union Cabinet's nod for Chandrayaan 4, ISRO aims to land on the moon and retrieve samples by 2027. The mission is seen as a stepping stone toward sending an Indian cosmonaut to the moon.

ISRO has been working on concepts and proposals for the above projects. However, the formal nod granted by the Indian Government today helps put these grand plans into action, in the coming years and decades.
